Intelligences

Deepal and Mihir have "come to the realization that [they] have all of these intelligent friends who are doing different things. So then, it seems that if we all moved to an island, we could start our own nation... be perfectly fine" (giovortex, away message, retrieved December 6, 2001 at 11:04am pst).
That is incredibly appealing. Funny, though, how I interpreted "island" to be a humanly deserted but florally and faunally bountiful sanctuary in the middle of nowhere. In that case, we'd be relying less on the linguistic or logical-mathematic intelligences as defined by Howard Gardner, and more on the bodily-kinesthetic and personal. Was this anyone else's instinctive conception of the island? What am I doing here at college anyway if I am perfectly happy being unintellectual in the traditional sense—or, at least, unacademic?
