Counterpoint and old friends

Random randomness: Ima, who lives across the hall, sings in Counterpoint, whose concert I went to tonight. (Way too many clauses in that for me to sort out!) They were hosting two all-male groups, Bowdoin Meddiebempsters and the Tufts Beelzebubs. I'm prejudiced toward all-male groups because they tend to have more of that inexplicable but oh-so-vital energy that makes a capella, that product of "only" the human voice, so amazing. The Beelzebubs had a ton of it. They sang some songs that I don't necessarily even like, including U2's "Elevation", but infused them with so much awesomeness and vitality. There was also DMB's "The Space Between", a song with a Very Low Bass whose title I can't remember, and a very funny abbreviated rendition of The Princess Bride. Anyway, I was hanging around after the concert a bit to buy the CD and talk to some dormmates when some guy from the group came up to me and asked whether I'd gone to JP Stevens. It turned out to be Henry Lee, whom I hasn't recognized from a distance because I'm temporarily semi-blind from the contact lens fiasco! Anyway, we just chatted for a couple of minutes and shared bad recollections of high school choir (hee). I was about to go bring back Suzie but realized that she was already gone on her dorm's ski trip, so just winded up back here writing this little blurb.
