Self-preservation in cooking

Tortillas are a whole lot nicer when they're heated to the point of being crispily browned, but this causes a problem in eating it 'cause its contents reach a temperature far beyond comfortable. Letting the thing cool isn't an easy solution, eitheryou have to watch out for condensation on the side facing down, which could make it soggy right back again and negate any gain that you made in the first place. A cooling rack would be ideal, I guess, but I don't think we have one right now... Any suggestions?
In other news, I should start wearing my bike helmet. I know, theoretically, that if I'm going to be gallivanting with the SUVs across El Camino, I ought to take care of my skill. I just haven't been able to coax it into the daily routine. It's even more important on Wednesdays, when I ride straight from work to ultimate; most which is on a nice, secluded bike path but some of which is across busy streets like Foothill Expressway and Arastradero Road. I'm going to remember it next week. I mean it.
Whiffs of lavender from the living room are reaching me here at mywell, Colin'sdesk. To supplement Serra's last week's take from Emerson on the way back from Whole Foods, I picked some more in front of the alumni center on my way back today. Yum.
