A great question

I was chatting with a friend/mentor/colleague/Brotha (I'm not sure how else to describe somebody who is a peer via some paths and a superior via others) about a gizmo that I want to share with the world. Apparently he was getting tired of my timid rationalizing about such a gizmo's reception, so he told me to figure out:
"Well, who feels the most pain from not having it?"
Not: "Who is actually in the most pain from not having it?" (i.e., noone wants your analytical pity)
Not: "Who would benefit most after they had it?" (i.e., who you will have to convince really really hard of the need for such a thing)
But: "Who perceives their life to suck the most because they can't use something like this, and would therefore be made that much happier if they could?"
What a way to to turn the question upside down. Thanks, C!
