There ought to be a Movable Type plug-in that automatically closes comments to a post after a certain amount of time. Blocks spam and helps keep stuff relevant. I've noticed some blog authors doing this manually — but they shouldn't have to. Read: I'm too lazy to.

Starting to hunt online for this... or else adding to the list of projects:

1. researching and charting years vs. discovery of objects of next order of magnitude... e.g. cell, atom, subatomic particles; planet, solar system, galaxy. I have a feeling they match up.
2. a better boarding pass: only after flying so much in the recent holiday season has the light bulb turned on that current boarding passes are tied to suckage by vestiges of travel in bygone days
3. a fuzzy, conceptual new mobile phone hardware and software UI, because I just got a new one and am looking at it with fresh eyes and there seems to be so much wasted potential (perhaps constrained by features of my provider and services). I don't think I've ever met anyone who's been happy with theirs.
