While exploring the reborn urban miracle that is FreshDirect, I discovered that one can even buy wine online. FreshDirect's associated wine seller, Best Cellars, has a really neat classification system for wines. "Fresh", "soft", "luscious", "juicy", "smooth", "big" are actually excellent terms to describe what wine is: a spectrum, rather than a red vs. white dichotomy. Knowing that I'm partial toward "fresh"-type wines, for example, I dug around and saw an Argentinean Torrontes that I never would have really known what to expect from. Their selection is admittedly limited, but the model is right on.
